Woe is me

My life is a darkroom. One big, dark room... By the time you have read this I will have jumped leapt plummeted from the winter river bridge... Everything I touch turns to coal. Life is a pointless barrage of pain. I am sadder that anyone could possibly be, pity me, make comments in my journal so I feel loved...

I don't like Mondays

This morning was my first Monday morning in years. It wasn't so bad. I had planned to walk in to work thinking that it would go a long way toward waking me up and getting started. Well, it didn't happen. When the brutal reality of the morning presented itself I found that a little extra sleep was more important so I ended up driving in. I think I will make that part of my routine. I drive on Mondays so that I getting to bed a bit late because of Sanctuary doesn't get in the way. It's all about priorities.

Lots to do

This is going to be one busy weekend. I think I really could use this (today's comic). I spent yesterday afternoon lollygagging about downtown, it's going to be the last time I get to do that on a weekday afternoon for quite a while.

Damn! This is funny.

Well, I got off on one of my little information collection tangents, looking up some information on the area my father's family comes from. He told me long ago that the area, which is now part of the Ukraine was controlled by the Austro-Hungarian empire at the point his four grandparents emigrated. Looking up the overlap that places the village in the eastern part of Galicia. Why is that funny? Because this area was the western extent of the Goths at the point where the tribe/kingdom split in the Visigoths and the Ostrogoths. That puts me on the Visigoth side.

Just as I suspected

After taking the fashionable quiz du jour at MentalHealth.com my diagnosis came out as follows:

DISORDERS DIAGNOSED:

* Uncomplicated Bereavement

DISORDERS RULED OUT:

everything else

Another day...

...another comic.

I've got some drawing to do to get Evilyn's birthday present together today. I can't decide which of the 437,000 pictures there are of her on my Gothic BC site to use, not mention all the others that I have from converting files for her and other things.

ROFLMAO!!!

This is the best laugh I have had in a long time. Opium found this. You've got to scroll down, it's the second to last picture on the page... Gateway is famous! Too bad he didn't use the picture of Louis... that would have been really funny.

I found my RJ11 crimping tool...

Like that matters. But a nice little non-sequitur can be fun now and again. Not all the time of course, as some pseudo-intellectual types on the Van-Goth list seem to think. It gets so tiresome... another wave of new users, another wave of unedited one-line gibberish, tell people to read the FAQ and learn how to post, get a bunch of petulant "I should be allowed to do whatever I want [because I am so bloody clever]" whining, rinse, repeat. sigh

Hooray for Corpgoth

I rejoined Corpgoth on Yahoogroups and posted a general question about the livability of Houston and got some immediate responses. It doesn't seem like such a bad place at all. The clubs are air conditioned and they have an underground tunnel system downtown so you can stay out of the heat. From the salary survey information I could find I am worth about $85 - $90K there. No state taxes, low income tax. At this point it is just a question of what kind of offer I will get. And of course I don't have the luxury of being quite as choosy now, thanks to the dot.bomb and the plummeting market.
