Deep in the "I hate it" stage. I got interrupted yesterday while tweaking the ear and paint dried that I was actively working on and too much pulled away when I tried to fix it. Nothing to do but paint over it and start again. I'm frustrated.
This "morning's" stabs have the skin where I want it except for the bit of arm showing above the glove. I'll probably fix that up later today. Living on Greek time is a bit better on day two. I was tired at "bedtime" but I woke up way too early thisā¦
So here I am, up at 3 a.m., poking at this because in a few days I am going to be in Greece. It's 1 p.m. there right now and I am pre-jet-lagging to not waste valuable trip time on being tired. I have a few more days to sort it out. Very not thereā¦
I'm *almost* happy with the cheek. Time to step back. "Almost happy" is the point where you rush that one more tweak that fuŃks it up. When I used to surf "one more run" was always the wipe-out where you'd get hit in the face with the edge of yourā¦
The Georgian/Regency inspired makeup is every bit the challenge I was expecting, and it is taking time. It's taking a series of nearly imperceptible washes of white. Watching this painting progress is like watching the minute hand on a clock move.
Just a very thin layer to build up the cheekbone and that difficult smirk, which aren't done yet. But one thing I've learned is that trying to do too much too quickly can dig a hole in a layer that is working. I wish I had the space (i.e. the moneyā¦
