I *just* found out that Washington Square Park in Manhattan where I carved Hallowe'en pumpkins with @bitogoth and her friend Michelle back in 2001 (yeah, I went to NYC in October 2001) used to be a public burial ground until 1825 and was a mass grave for typhoid epidemics in the early 19th century. There are an estimated 20,000 people buried there. #gaf
