Republican Sons Against Bush

« previous next »

It's already a fact that Ronald Reagan Jr. is no fan of Bush
"Sure, he wasn't a technocrat like Clinton. But my father was a man -- that's the difference between him and Bush. To paraphrase Jack Palance, my father crapped bigger ones than George Bush."
-- Ronald Reagan Jr. Salon.com

Now John Eisenhower, son of Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower, is against Bush. In this article, referenced in today's Doonesbury comic, Eisenhower explains how the current administration has utterly failed to live up to Republican ideals and why he is going to vote Democrat this election for the first time in his life. This man is no slouch, politically. He served on the White House staff between October 1958 and the end of the Eisenhower administration. From 1961 to 1964 he assisted his father in writing “The White House Years,” his Presidential memoirs. He served as American ambassador to Belgium between 1969 and 1971.
