O.K. figure this one out. Telus called me Wednesday to tell me, "Oh, we can hook your phone up Friday. You don't have to wait until Monday." "Goody!" sez I. So this evening I am at the new apartment and try the phone. Sure enough it is working. langsuir can verify - I spoke to him. Then I went to Home Depot with bdallaway to get window screens, a shelf and a couple other little things. When I got back the phone was dead. It seems that someone decided that letting me have my phone early was somehow a bad thing. I'll call the service line tomorrow and see what the Hell is going on, although I suspect the only problem is miscommunication and incompetence. *sigh*
