That's "Raptor" not "Reptard"

« previous next »

Today we I took Ivana, Connor and Kyla to see the bird rehabilitation centre where Opium works and to watch an Eagle being returned to the wild.

The owl in the foreground only has one wing. She was hit by a car. The one in the background has a bad wing and brain damage from flying into a high-rise.

This eagle will never be set free. He is suffering from something akin to hemophilia brought on by pesticide poisoning.

This is Goldie. She is an 11-year old golden eagle with a bad shoulder. She is unable to long distances because of it and will never recover.

Her is Goldie again, showing off her 8' wingspan. She is a very impressive bird!

Here is the little blighter that held up the show. They were reluctant to let the eagle go while this little scrapper was loose.

Here is the star of the show, looking pretty anxious to be on his way.

The moment of release

Freedom
