Perspective on the magnitude of bringing down the WTC...

The two towers had floor space of 3.8 million square feet. That's a square roughly 1950 feet on a side. In meters 1950' is about 595 metres. That's the size of the red square. The green oval is BC Place Stadium. Now imagine that space filled with desks and cubicles like any other office. Now imagine people sitting at all those desks. Now imagine the people occupying the space covered by the stadium. Those would be the people on the upper floors that had no way to get out before the buildings collapsed.
