I have a meeting at Nat Bailey today that I suspect will include an offer of full-time employment. My biggest clue was posting a job description the other day for a media intern that was to answer to the Media Relations Manager and the Internet Communications Manager. There is no Internet Communication Manager and there has been no job posting for one. My old title at Riverside (after Lignum merged and before the Tolko take-over) was "Electronic Communications Manager" (later changed to "Analyst" since I had no one reporting to me). The constant struggle against the "cover your ass and collect your cheque" mentality at my current day-job is driving me nuts and I'm really looking forward to getting back into a corporate culture where excellence is par for the course. [EDIT: Poop. No offer yet, but enough work in the funnel to keep me in doughnuts and beer for a while.]
Saturday I have a wedding to shoot, which is always fun. You never know how one thing will lead to another. I originally met the bride by slagging her grammar in an LJ community comment. It looks like the weather is going to be just perfect for shooting so I'm pretty excited about this. There's also a bit of a road-trip involved. I haven't been out for a nice, long drive since before I got rid of
the Wonder Wagon and this month I have two: tomorrow to central Washington and back and then in two weeks to C13 in Portland.
Sunday I should have some time to make progress on my thus-far "secret" project that I've been plugging away on. I'll be picking up the last few bits I need today.
